 Field visit to Dooradarshan

              The Dept. of Visual Communication conducted a field visit to Dooradarshan both 1st and 2nd years on 25th July 2014. Students numbering 27 along with faculty members Mr. T. Raja Kumar and Mr. John visit the transmittion center and studious of Dooradarshan under departmental field visit program.

              The students 1st visited the transmittion center of Dooradarshan located at Kondapalli where Mr. N .A .Narayana Reddy, center Engieneer explained the functioning of uploading and downloading and transmittion process.Later the students procedded to studio of DD located at vijayawada where Mr. Kaali prasda, Engeenier studio explained the functions of the studio and regarding the usage of infrastructure studios, recordings, and editing to get more awarness on media.



Guest Lecture by Dr. G. Anitha

    The Dept. of Viscom PG organised on July 17th thrusday, a guest lecture on resent trends in Advertiing.Dr.G Anitha, Asst. Professiro of NagarjunaUniversity attented the seminar as the resource person.
Dr. Anitha expressed that the main task of adverting is branding to the product or the service. The loecture went on the two sessions as the 1st section focused on the basis oof Advertising industry and various techiques in print and electronic adverting while the second section mainly focus on the current trends on advertising and the carrier prospects a nd the levels of industry.
        In the intrective sesseion conducted at the end of both lectures, the resource person gave satisfactory responsed the clarity doubts .the students of 1st and 2nd year M.Sc Viscom attended the seminar. The program is suoervised by the Rev Fr Rex Anjelo facaulty members of the Visual Communication Dept. Mr. T. Raja Kumar and Mr. John.



World Photography Day



The Pg Dept. of Viscom, on the accaion of the world photography day organised a Photography Exhibaitaion on the theme of capturing “Aerial view of ALC” and awarded prizes for the photographes captaured for this purpose during the month of Aug 2014.the Exhibaitaion was conducted on 19th Aug 2014 World Photography day.The compitation is open for all students of Alc, in these 57 photographes were selected for display. Cash prizes of Rupees 1000,600,400 were awared along with certificates for the winners of 1st, 2nd & 3rd.the 1st place was bagged by Mr.Guneeth Singh Oberai (NVC-9), 2nd prise was won by C.D Anusha (NMVC-6) then 3rd prise by K.Sri kar (AVC-6).The program was inagurated by Dr.Rex Angelo and he delerved key note address,Mr. Rex said that photography unites people and empowers the communication process and ware by photography is assential in Human Life.Mr. G. Vara Prasad is the chief guest of the program.Rev Fr Raju, correspondent, Rev Fr Ravi Sekhar (rector), Ms.Mary Manjula attended at theprogram.some 100’s of students are witnessed the exhibition. This program was supervised by Mr. T. Raja Kumar, H.O.D and Mr. P.John, faculty member.


Guest Lecture by Mr Vara Prasad



Pg Dept. of Visual Communication conducted a guest lecture program on 19th August 2014 by Mr.G.Vara Prasad on lighting techniqus on photography.All Viscom students of both 1st and 2nd year students numbering 29 participated in semiar.Mr.G.Vara Parsad is a seniour photographer in Vijayawada city and he was ex faculty member in the Dept. Of Photography in ALC fro 18 years.

Guest Lecture by Mr. K.Karthik

 Pg Dept. of Visual Communication conducted a guest lecture program on 12th August 2014 by Mr. K.Karthik as resource person. Mr. K.Karthik is farmer HOD of Viscom dept. in ALC and at present is seniour researc fellow in Universiy in Hyderabad. The theme of the guest lecture is emerging trends in films.students of both years numbering 28 participated in the seminar.

Mobilography- 2014

With a view to encouraging the creative talents of the students, to bring awareness on ‘exploiting the latest technology’, the PG Dept. of Visual Communication organized a mobile photography (photographs taken from mobile handsets) competition “Mobilography-14” on July 28, 2014 followed by the Exhibition of the selected photographs, for which 101 selected photographs have been selected for exhibition. The Department invited students from various departments of the College and various other Colleges in and around Vijayawada city to participate in the programme.
The programme is inaugurated by Actor and Star Comedian of Telugu Films Mr. M S Narayana, Rev. Fr Dr Rex Angelo delivered keynote address on this occasion. Students from more than 15 colleges participated in the competition.

1st Prize – Rs. 2000/-                K. Havish         K L University.
2nd Prize – Rs.1500/-                B. Bharath       JKC College, Guntur
3rd Prize – Rs.1000/-              N. Venkatesh    B.B.A. Andhra Loyola College.
And 7 excellent photographs were selected for Consolation Prizes Rs.200 each.

Ravi Sekhar SJ, the Rector, Rev Fr Dr GAP Kishore, SJ, the Principal, Rev Fr S Raju SJ, the Correspondent, Rev Fr Dr Rex Angelo SJ, PG Vice Principal of the College, along with film personalities, attended the programme while faculty members T. Raja Kumar, Mr. P. John Adinarayana supervised function.





INFOCUS-14

è                   Students from 1st year Stephen Raj AMVC 7, Ravi Kiran (AMVC -8), Mr.Ranjeeth Gill(AMCV 10)  participated in the students level national film festival, “INFOCUS-14” conducted on 18th & 19th FEB-2014, by the Dept. of Mass Communication, Loyola Academy, Hyderabad.Ravi Kiran AMVC-8 got Third Prize in “DRAMA BAAZ” competition. 

Seminar & Paper Presentations at Acharya Nagarjuna University

è  Mr. T. Raja Kumar and P. John Adinarayana are attending Seminar on 3rd & 4th of March, conducting by the Acharya Nagarjuna University, Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism onThe Changing dimensions of Public Relations” along with 11 students of M.Sc Visual Communication Dept.

Mr. T. Raja Kumar (HOD), P. John Adinarayana (Lecturer) and Ravi Kiran (student) presented seminar papers on following Titles:

1) M.R T. Raja Kumar: - Comparative roles of Public Relations and human resources-a    
                                        Significance of PR practice.

2) P. John Adinarayana:-Semiotic analysis on advertising commercials and Public Relation.


3) Ravi Kiran               : - Public relation and Ethical Issues.


Seminar on cameras & the video techniques by Fr. Lurdh Raju

The students of M.S c Visual Communication were present in the seminar given by Fr. Lurdh Raju on 10th Feb 2014, delivered on the cameras and the video techniques for making a shot film. The students interacted with the resource person and clarified their doubts in making a shot film. The resource person also gave valuable information on the latest models of cameras for video and still photography.

Educational Photography Tour

The PG Dept. of Visual Communication both the 1st and 2nd year students (13) along with two faculty members visited Visakapatnam, Borra Caves and Araku vally on a educational photography tour from  16th -19th of Jan 2014.The students practiced photography from different perspectives which is helpful in their understanding and visualization.

Spot Photography

M.Sc Visual Communication students participated in the “Spot Photography” competition conducted by Krishna University Youth Festival at KBN College, Vijayawada on 07-12-2013 and one of the students, “G. Bhavan” (AMVC-02) got the 2nd prize among 150 students from different colleges.


Field Visit Program To AIR (All India Radio)

        M.Sc Visual Communication students both 1st and 2nd years visited AIR (All India Radio) on field visit program conducted on 06-01-14 to know how the channel is functioning and regarding the usage of infrastructure, studios, recordings, and editing to get more awareness on media and working strategies.


Viscom Times

       Dept. of M.Sc Visual Communication came up with new and innovative idea to circulate a wall journal within the campus called “Viscom Times” on 04-01-13.It gives more information on each and every Dept. activities, achievements as well as National and International news to the college students to know about more on current affairs. This paper comes twice in a month with latest and present news.


Society of Jesus seminar

1)      Mr. T. Raja Kumar and Mr. P. John attended one day seminar of the Society of Jesus conducted on 23-11-2013 in the seminar hall, to know the history and biography of Jesuits and how they are contributing their life to the God.


Science Exhibition

      Dept. of M.Sc Visual Communication participated in the “Science Exhibition”, on 4-11-13, conducted by the post graduation wing of the college, for different schools and colleges in surrounding areas to get the awareness on the camera, photography, editing, mixing, recording, online editing on switcher and production process steps.


Two days Guest lecture by Mr. K. Karthik

       Two days Guest lecture by Mr. K. Karthik on 21st & 22nd of Oct in PG Seminar Hall on various subjects in entire syllabus like Intro. to Visual Communication, Film Genres, Theories of Visual Analysis, Designing Principles etc and how to work in various places after completion of the course. He explained to the students how to fill the gap between academic course and industry requirements.

    A Guest lecture by Mr. Anoop, a freelance photographer and managing director of Annop Concepts, on 31st July, Photography techniques and fashion photography with both the students of 1st and 2nd years of Visual communication in PG Seminar Hall.



Mobilography 2013



1)      The Dept. of M.Sc Visual Communication organized a mobile photography competition “Mobilography” (photographs taken from mobile handsets) on July 30th (Tuesday) to bring awareness on ‘Exploiting the latest Technology’. The Department is openly invited to involve students from various Departments of the College as participants and exhibited selected photographs and top three photographs was selected by Mr. K. Vidya Sagar and Mr. Anoop, judges for the program.
